Project Info:

We perceive the world as emotional and physical beings.

Solitude is a state of connection with ourselves.
In order to experience solitude, three factors need to be fulfilled: to be secluded, to not be engaged with other people or beings and to feel contemplative.

Running and meditation are activities that treat the body and the mind.
The body is form and substance and it benefits from movement. During exercise our brain releases endorphins and proteins which are responsible for our feeling of relaxation and relief after exercise.
Mind is consciousness and benefits from stillness. When we quiet our mind with meditation, we open to the infinite ideas and possibilities.

What is crucial for both activities is breathing. Breathing is life force flowing through us. By paying attention to our breath we change focus from having retrospective thoughts or future phantasies to awareness in the present moment, which is always peaceful and where our power lies.

The aim of the project is to serve people to treat their emotional (and physical) selves. It’s a place where you withdraw from the city, and through solitary experiences move up on the emotional scale.
The goal is to leave the stress, frustration, anger or any other low feelings and make space for the good – feeling emotions.
The steps towards better feeling state are psychotherapy (awareness and acceptance of the problem), solitary sport (reaching relief and relaxation)and meditation (quieting the mind).

The site is a wild, non-built area between two railway lines connecting Westkreuz and Berlin Charlottenburg. Providing seclusion from the city streets, it has a character of an island.
Of great importance is the presence of untouched nature on the site. Nature sounds and vegetation contribute to solitude. Each part of the project is located in this wilderness, in some cases the space is completely secluded and surrounded by it, in some cases partially.
