Haus Sommerfeld was the first joint project of the Bauhaus Dessau. It was designed in 1920 by Walter Gropius and Adolf Meyer alongside Bauhaus students.
Structure :
Wooden interlocking structure.
Mise-en-scène :
Specially designed folding elements such as doors, curtains, stairs, and windows.
1 to 1 :
The built element frames the connection between the exterior yard and interior space of Building 8. This 1 to 1 model reinterprets the two main concepts of Haus Sommerfeld: the wood interlocking structure and the folding of the mise-en-scène elements.
